Amat Victoria Curam

With all the hype around love because of Valentine's Day, I was so tempted to write about love, but I'm not going to. For me, this weekend was all about missions. It seemed all my time was devoted to fundraising and organizing things for missions. As I began to think about my trip, I realized it is not for another 2 1/2 months...so why am I working so hard!? This question brings me to the topic of this post, preparation is key!

Everyone has dreams, passions, desires, goals etc… and we all want to see those become a reality. To even begin chasing your goals you must have preparation, even to the most basic degree. Preparation may be in studying, gaining experience, developing character attributes about yourself (Such as discipline), and especially in learning from failure.
Before you even begin to think about your life goals, you must think about your current goals. And before you think about your current goals, you must prepare to face the challenge. In a movie I saw, there was a Latin inscription that said, "Amat Victoria Curam". So before you dive head first into your passions and goals, remember, "Victory loves Preparation".

The Beginning!

This is the beginning of my blogging journey, and I'm excited to share my thoughts, however complex or simple-minded they may be. The encouragement to start this blog came from a class I am taking, called Promotional Management, with a professor known as Dr. Greene. The class seems intense but I am loving it so far. Dr. Greene is one of the few teachers that I wonder why they are still at ORU, because with his knowledge and experience he could be anywhere, really. Sometimes being in his class makes you realize how much you don't know, which is a great thing, because I am at school to learn things I do NOT know.

If you are wondering where the title of my blog came from ("For One...and Then One More"), let me explain. I have this theory that people, in a broad spectrum, have their mind set on one goal, whether consciously or subconsciously, and whether big or small. Once this goal is reached, then it moves on to another goal. If you are a basketball player, you live for one win...and once it is achieved, you live for another and so on.  You can't live for a championship until you live for one win! If you are a business man, you live for one dollar...but once that is attained, you live for more.  You cannot live for ONE million dollars if you have not even made ONE hundred.  Of course, this is my opinion, but I love to see the world through this theory.

So since I have this blog, why not write about the "One" thing for which people live.  I will try to get people's stories, dreams, and passions, including my own, and post them in this blog as they come.  I'm looking forward to exploring the theory. So I hope you will join me on this journey!

Remember, live for one...and then one more!
